Anti-obesity and Anti-diabetic Effects of Fucoxanthin

摘要 目前肥胖和Ⅱ型糖尿病已迅速成为世界范围内的流行病。一种在褐藻中发现的典型类胡萝卜素-岩藻黄素,具有潜在的抗肥胖和抗糖尿病活性,可能对治疗肥胖以及糖尿病有显著疗效。岩藻黄素含有一个丙二烯键以及两个羟基的多烯发色团尾端,这种独特的化学结构是其具有重要生物活性的关键因素。岩藻黄素可以诱导线粒体解偶联蛋白1(UCP1)在白色脂肪组织(White Adipose Tissue,WAT)的表达从而增加产热,还可以通过调节WAT中的细胞因子分泌来改善胰岛素抵抗并降低血糖水平。本文通过查阅大量相关文献,对岩藻黄素抗肥胖以及抗糖尿病作用进行全面综述。 Obesity and type II diabetes are rapidly taking a form of global epidemics. Fucoxanthin, a characteristic carotenoid found in brown seaweeds, has potential anti-obesity and anti-diabetic properties and may be effective for the treatment of these two conditions. The polyene chromophore tail of fucoxanthin, which contains an allenic bond and two hydroxyl groups, is believed to be a key factor for the bioactivities of the compound. Fucoxanthin induces mitochondria uncoupling protein 1 in white adipose tissue(WAT), which leads to increased heat production. In addition, fucoxanthin improves insulin resistance and decreases blood glucose levels through the regulation of cytokine secretion in WAT. This article provides a comprehensive review of the anti-obesity and anti-diabetes effects of fucoxanthin.
