美国大学理事会继2004年组成AP中文筹划委员会之后,于2006年开始开设高中AP中文课程,2007年举行第一次AP中文考试,至2016年为止AP中文的实施已长达十年之久。本文将分析考生人数与背景、考试分数以及全球AP中文课程分布情况。具体来说,先通过表格和图表讨论2007至2016年AP中文考生总人数和非华裔考生人数及两者的变化趋势,再通过分析得分3分及3分以上考生的百分比以及AP中文考试得分的平均值和标准差来看AP中文考生成绩的变化,进而分析比较AP中文考试和其他五种AP外语考试的得分情况,最后讨论AP中文课程在世界各个国家及地区以及美国各州的分布。本文最后将根据近十年AP中文各方面的数据预测未来可能的发展趋势。
The College Board in the US established the AP Chinese Planning Commission in 2004, launched the AP Chinese course for high school students in 2006 and administered the exam in 2007. It has been ten years since the AP Chinese has been put into practice until 2016. This article is intended to analyze the number of exam takers, their backgrounds, exam results, and the distribution of AP Chinese courses. Specifically, the analyses include changes in the number of exam takers both in the total group and in the standard group from 2007 to 2016 based on tables and graphs, the changes in test scores of AP Chinese exam takers according to the percentages of exam takers with scores of three and above, the means and standard deviations of AP Chinese scores, as well as the comparison of test scores between AP Chinese and five additional AP world languages. The paper then discusses the distribution of AP Chinese courses in the US and in the globe. Finally, the paper predicts the possible developments of AP Chinese in the future based on the data in the recent ten years.
