Chuanshan Thought and the Modernization of HuXiang Culture

进入近代以后 ,湮没于清初的船山思想经湖南士人邓显鹤、曾国藩、曾国荃、郭嵩焘等人努力发掘得以复苏 ,并对湖湘文化的近代化产生了巨大影响。船山的道器观、变法论、尊王攘夷观、两害相权取其轻。

Chuanshan thought,which was neglected in the early Qing Dy nasty and was resuscitated through efforts by many people from Hunan such as De ng Xian-he,Zeng Guo-fan,Zeng Guo-quan,Guo Song-tao etc.It had great influence on t he modernizatioin of HuXiang Culture since the beginning of the modern period.C huanshan's view on political reform,supporting the Chinese and resisting the for eigners, taking the more favorable aspects when considering a particular affair, historical evolution,etc.have played a special role in the modernization of HuX iang Culture.
