Selection of elite parent lines is an important technique for the heterosis utilization of sorghum .Elite restorer line 4930 has been selected by means of screening parents of hybridization and multiple cross. It has some excellent characters of high combining ability, high restoring ability, high resistant ability and good comprehensive characters. The combined hybrids by using restorer line 4930, Xiong hybrid No.3, No.4, and No.5 have the characters of high yielding, good quality, multi resistance and stability.
