Xu Fu-zuo was a feudal man of letters who ever suffered various miseries and the Exam-oriented policy of his time but he was also a plagwright full of strong subjective interests. His The History of Xiao Guang based on historical materials appropriately manipulates the degree of history and fiction when they come together and transcendents the historcal limits. Even though there isa record of family affairs, the upholding of justic over vice takes on the positive mind and social significance.
