In2001～2002,the number of Internet users in Australia has exceeded50%of the total population.There are some major changes in the type of customer subscribed service.The number of In ternet customers subscribing services by month,quarter and year is increasing,while the number of customers of free services,pay-by-hour and ac cess -by -capacity is decreasing.Business and governmental services on Internet are in creas ing.The government is active in im-ple menting public In ternet access project.ISP and related access point number in every state and district of Australia is decreasing while tele-com in frastruc ture is further improved.
