The Comparison between the Literary Thought of Confucius and Plato

孔子与柏拉图作为中西两大文化传统的形塑者与代表者,历来被作为比较研究的对象。本文选取他们二人的文艺思想,主要从文艺的社会功能、文艺的理想人格、文艺的美学批评三个方面对之进行比较论证,既见出他们文艺思想的相似性,又总结出他们文艺思想的根本不同之处。

As the creators and representatives of Chinese and Western culture, Confucius and Plato have been being taken as the object of comparative research all through the ages. This paper tries to compare their literary ideas from three aspects: the social function of literature and art, the ideal personality and the esthetic criticism of literature and art, through which we can see the similarities as well as the difference.
