Modern talents in Guangdong district were characterized by their majority in number, affluence in brilliance, the guidance in accordance with the step of age and conspicuous distribution in regions, which had direct relevance to the peculiar geographical and humanitarian elements of Guangdong district. The superiority in geographical location empowered it the leading role in opening the academic atmosphere and enabled it to develop 'the spirit of Lingnan Culture' with characteristics. Moreover, the advanced education, deeply rooted traditional culture and well developed social economy laid the foundation for the growing of modern talents. This group of talents became the most active and influential great minds in the modern history of China. They not only changed the course of development in history in modern China, but also contributed a great deal to the social transformation and development of modern Guangdong as well.
