在人类文化的发展史上,都市的建设始终是社会文明与进步的表征。都市环境的规划以及都市中公共艺术品的呈现正体现了这一地区经济文化的发展,因此城市的公共艺术和环境景观形态对于该市的风貌、气息及个性形象的辨识和张扬起到重要的作用,城市化特征应主要以公共艺术设计去体现。

Urbanization symbolizes the civilization and cultural development of human societies. And public art in cities enriches the city's quality of life, providing a sense of place and adding interest and vitality to the landscape. The distinctive features of the personality of a city can be embodied by its public art.The construction of public art in a city serves as a window on which the development of the city's culture and economy can be displayed. The author proposes that a more important position should be given to public art in a city's 'culture gallery'.
