Theoretical guidelines in and semantic quantity limits on the transformation between nouns and adjectives

数量特征是词类转化的一个显著特点。本文根据石毓智对数量语义特征的研究,从数量特征中的离散性和连续性两方面着手,归纳出名词、形容词转化必须各自消除掉自身原有的数量特征的规律。原词类数量特征的限制会相应地引起转化后词类语法形态的限制和变化。

The quantitative meaning of concepts has a significant effect on grammar, especially in the transformation of words. On the basis of Shi Yuzhi's research on quantitative meaning of concepts, this research emphasizes on two important semantic features in quantitative concepts, namely, individuality and duration. Thus the author comes to a conclusion that the transformation of words leads to the change of its original quantitative features and, accordingly, the limit on the grammatical forms.
