再定义自己,是全球化时代对人文知识分子的历史要求。正确认识这一历史要求,就必须站在公正的立场,从政治的、学术的和文化传播的角度对其进行考察。面对全球化时代所呈现出的不平等、不公正的事实,人文知识分子理应把全球化理论转换成一种批评新论,并在批判中明确再定义自己的价值取向。必须批判人类文化趋同论,必须批判独尊资本主义世界体系理论宣传的"向心逻辑",必须确立公正的人类意识。再定义自己要具体化到个体的内外精神结构的调整与更新上,它需要人文知识分子以一种大视野、高文化和担道义的精神来支撑。

Selfredefinition is a historical appeal to humanisctic intellectuals in this globalizing age. An appropriate understanding of this appeal depends on inspection from a just political, academic and cultural conveyance view. In face of inequal and unjust facts caused by globalization, humanistic intellectuals should transform the theory of globalization into a new critic theory and redefine themselves in the course of criticism. They must establish a just human consciousness by criticising the cultural directivity and the 'centripetal logic' advertised by those who believe only in the theory of the system of the capitalist world. Since this selfredefinition is actualised through adjustment and rehabilitation of individual spiritual and physical structure, humanistic intellectuals will need support from such values as a vast horizon, profound cultural attainments and obligation for social justice.
