大学办学理念:东西方文化的比较

The Comparison on the Idea of the University between East Culture and West Culture

正如现代大学诞生于西方一样 ,大学的办学理念也是西方一统天下。文章首先从世界一流大学发展的角度 ,把西方大学的办学理念概括为合理求是、使命引导、学术自由、大学自治、积极应变五个方面。与此相对照 ,又从中国传统文化出发 ,把大学的办学理念概括为五个方面 :各美其美、和而不同、学术责任、与时俱进、止于至善。其中 ,“各美其美”是行动的价值观念 ,“和而不同”是行动的必要选择 ,“学术责任”是行动的制度约束 ,“与时俱进”是行动的管理标准 ,“止于至善”是行动的最终理想。最后 ,指出包括中国在内的发展中国家建设世界一流大学 。

The idea of the university of the western countries is widely accepted in the whole world for some part of reason that the first modern university was established in the West. This article discusses the different ideas among the different countries and makes comparisons among them and then gives the unique idea of Chinese universities from the point of view of Chinese traditional culture. The author introduced his notion that the universities in China as well as in other developing countries should assimilate its own wisdom and strength in its own history in order to become one of the top universities in the world.
