文化批评的兴起有多方面的原因,其存在的合理性与现实价值显而易见。但是,作为一种批评方法,文化批评不过是为文学批评打开了一个新的窗口;而任何窗口都是有局限的,文化批评也必然会遮蔽一些东西。当下流行的文化批评因审美尺度的缺席而走向非文学化,并导致批评与创作的亲缘关系的解体。因此,文化批评的自我检讨已势在必行。

We can always find thousands of reasons for the rising of cultural criticism, and it is obvious that its existence is reasonable and has real importance. But, as a way of commenting, cultural criticism only helps open a new window for literary criticism, and there must be some limitation for any window, therefore, when cultural criticism is performed, something may be hidden. Nowadays, the popular cultural criticism is tending to be non-literaurizing. Because of the lack of aesthetic criterion. And that results in the seperation of criticism and creation, which used to be closely connected, a self-review for cultural criticism is imperative under the situation.
