Ecological Information on the Dwarf Blue Sheep Population

利用路线调查方法分别于1998年7-8月和2000年7-8月对巴塘县的矮岩羊(Pseudoisschaeferi)种群进行了初步研究,结果显示,从20世纪50年代以来,矮岩羊的种群数量下降很快,目前主要栖息在巴塘县的竹笆笼到苏阿龙一带河谷及支流两侧陡峭的、难以攀越的悬崖绝壁上的岩壁草丛环境中,面积大约200km2的范围内,数量大约在141只左右,活动群体的大小为2-10只,种群平均密度为0 705只/km2.矮岩羊生性胆小,易受惊吓,休息时喜欢用前脚刨地,约占休息时间的1/3.森林面积的锐减,人为猎杀,过渡放牧是影响矮岩羊种群数量和生存环境的主要原因.

From July to August in 1998 and 2000,the survey was done to the dwarf blue sheep(Pseudois schaeferi)population in the Batang County, Sichuan Province, China. The result shows that the number and the range of the dwarf blue sheep have declined rapidly from 1950s, and now most dwarf blue sheep inhabit on the steep, arict, lower slopes of the Yangtze River in the Batang County, from Sowalong to Zhubalong, with the area about 200 sq km. There are about 141 individuals in numbers. The population herd size from 2 to 10 individuals, and the average density is 0.705只/km2.The species is very shy and disturbed more easily. Before rest they like to dig ground with their forelimb, whick those spends one third of their rest time. The heavy loss of the forest, hunting of human beings and grazing over much are the main reasons that have affected the numbers and inhabited environment.
