Based on the overview of the development of the three previous generations of mobile communications, and the summarization of their remaining problems, the paper gives a comprehensive analysis for the next-generation mobile communications in aspects of the system selection, key physical layer technologies, all-IP based and intelligentized mobile networks, topological architecture and overall network planning.
