Socially responsible investment '(SRI )is a new trend overseas.This paper expounds the meaning of'socially responsible investment 'and how it is operated abroad.It also explores the significance of SRI in China in the light of the present condition of China.Both the investors financial needs and an investment's impact on society will be considered when making investment decisions.In this way,SRI is favorable to sustainable development of economy,and it can make the stock market develop healthily.So more institutional investors should get to know it and guide the investment decision by taking some reasonable views from it for reference,which will speed up the healthy development of our domestic stock market.
