Application of the no oil ignition burners in pulverized coal fired boilers is very important in solving the fuel oil crisis, and some problems occurred at the same time. In the beginning, the ignition burners may just have the function of ignition and assisting the stabilization combustion, and then it can be used as the main burner in the near future after several applications. To improve the ignition function, there have two ways: firstly, intensifying the function of the burners; secondly, appropriate collocation of the ignition burners. The startup procedure must be adapted to the application of the no oil ignition burners.
