Like the existence of all organisms, the paper argues, the existence of the colorful languages and cultures of various peoples all have their reasons and values. The diversity of languages and cultures may offer a better guarantee for the balance of social eco-system. Also, it may serve as a guarantee for the co-existence, mutual learning and common development among peoples in different countries, of different ethnicity and with different languages and cultures, thus assuring a socio-cultural space of sustainable development for the mankind.
