In Kenya, the factor of local nationalism in the general election is determined by the local-ethnic background of the political parties. And local nationalism has become a tool in the struggle for party interests. Usually, politicians or political parties will make use of the existing local-ethnic contradictions for the purpose to defeat the rivals and win their own political interests. Local nationalism has weakened the political and social foundation of the country and will exercise a far negative influence on the future politics in Kenya.
