With the constructing of the company information system,the characteristic of the electric data is more and more obvious,for example,the larger data volume,the more structure type,and higher business value.The application requirement of the big data technology in the electric power industry is becoming more and more urgent.From the perspective of electric power company,this paper summarizes the characteristics of electric data and the applications of big data technology in the power grid.
