语言是文化的有机组成部分,同时也是文化的载体。文化深深地植根于语言,两者相互影响,相互渗透。在跨文化交际过程中,不同民族的人能否相互沟通,不仅取决于他们对语言本身的理解,而且取决于对语言所负载的文化的理解。唯有深刻理解两种语言的文化差异,才能跨越语言鸿沟。

Language is a part of culture and also the carrier of language. Culture is deeply rooted in language and has great influence on language,and vice versa. In cross- cultural communication,whether people from different countries could communicate with each other effectively depends not only upon their understanding about the language,but also upon their understanding of the culture it reflects. The gaps in communication can be bridged only by an in- depth understanding of the cultural differences between the two languages.
