文学作品翻译中译者的形象思维运用——以查尔斯·弗雷泽的小说《夜树林》译文为例

The Use of Translator's Imagery Thinking in English-Chinese Literary Translation——A Case Study of the Translation of Charles Frazier's“Nightwoods”

翻译既是一种语言转换活动,也是一项思维活动。文学作品的特点决定翻译过程中形象思维起着主导作用。以查尔斯·弗雷泽的小说《夜树林》译文为例,阐述译者在文学翻译过程中如何充分运用形象思维的可感性、联想性、情感性以及和谐性,以实现文学原作的形象再现。

Translation is not only cross-lingual transfer,but also conversion of thought. Imagery thinking plays a leading role in literary translation because of characteristics of literary works. By the translation of Charles Frazier’s novel'Nightwoods'as an example,this paper illustrates how to make full use of four characteristics of image thinking( sensibility,association,affection and harmony) during the translation process to achieve image reproduction of original works.
