Translation Strategies of Dialogues from the Perspective of Interpersonal Function

本文以原籍澳大利亚、现居英国作家ML Stedman的新锐小说"The Light between Oceans"为语料,探讨对话翻译时,译者应该采取的翻译策略。结论是:以保留原对话中语气和情态系统的直译为主,有时为了达到人际功能上的对等,也会采用意译的方式,根据不用情况采取不同的翻译策略,以更好地表达人际对话文本所蕴含的意义。

The research of this article is based on the novel“The Light between Oceans”written by ML Stedman.This article discussed the translation strategy used in translating dialogues,and reached the conclusion that mostly we should keep the mood and modality system and use literal translation,but sometimes use liberal translation to get the equivalence of interpersonal function.Above all,taking different translating strategies according to different situation is the proper way in translation.
