Research Progress of Musashi Family in the Pathogenesis of Gastrointestinal Carcinoma

摘要 Musashi(Msi)家族是一种进化保守的RNA结合蛋白,包括Musashi1(Msi1)和Musashi2(Msi2),研究显示Msi家族RNA结合蛋白在神经干/祖细胞和肿瘤干细胞特性的维持中发挥了重要作用,可通过调控转录过程中相关RNA的稳定性来参与复杂的信号通路进而影响细胞的生命活动。消化系统恶性肿瘤是我国发病率最高的肿瘤,具有较高的死亡率。最新的研究发现,Musashi家族可能参与食管癌、胃癌、胰腺癌等消化系统肿瘤的发生、发展并与耐药性的产生密切相关。本综述旨在概述Musashi家族的分子结构、功能、参与的信号通路以及其在消化道肿瘤研究中的最新进展。 Musashi proteins are conserved RNA-binding proteins,including Masashi1(Msi1)and Masashi2(Msi2).It has been shown that Musashi proteins play a critical role in the maintenance of neural stem and progenitor cells,as well as cancer stem cells.They participate in the complex signaling pathway via regulation of the stability of transcription related RNA,and further affect life activities in cells.In China,gastrointestinal carcinoma(GC)is the most common malignancy with high mortality.Recent studies have demonstrated that Musashi proteins are deemed to participate in the development and progress of GC,including esophageal cancer,gastric cancer,as well as pancreatic cancer.Furthermore,it has been indicated that Musashi proteins might be involved in the procedure of drug resistance.This review will summarize the research progress in the structure,function and signaling pathway of Musashi proteins,and their underlying role in the pathogenesis of GC.
