CAI Yuanpei is an outstanding educator in modern times of China. His educational thoughts are many-sided, and are chiefly manifested in the following. Universitys guiding ideology should be 'all-embracing' and 'thought of freedom'; education should have brand-new aims; students should receive an education to develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically. The ultimate concerns of his education thoughts are shown in his solid political beliefs of strong patriotism, saving China by scientific knowledge and education. We can gain a good deal of enlightenment from such thoughts of his, which are still of even greater importance even today.
