Reflections on the Characteristics and Problems of Science Fiction in the Early Stage of the New Era

新时期初期,中国文坛涌现出170多篇科幻小说,拉开了新时期科幻小说的序幕,但它们却一直未受到学术界应有的关注和重视。这批科幻小说大多描写与现实生活相关的科技革命现象,其突出特征是立足现实、重视科技知识的普及和科学意识的传播,尽管较强的科普性使其在思想层面缺乏足够的人文关怀,同时有着幻想性不足、故事情节单一、人物形象扁平化等艺术上的不足,但在不发达的中国科幻小说史上,它们却占有承前启后的特殊地位,反思性地研读之,有助于深化认识中国科幻小说的发展与演变。

In the early period of the new era,more than 170 science fiction stories emerged in the Chinese literary arena,but they have not been given due attention by the academic circles.Most of these stories describe the phenomena of scientific and technological revolution related to real life.Their prominent features are based on reality,attaching importance to the popularization of scientific and technological knowledge and the dissemination of scientific consciousness.At the ideological level,it lacks sufficient humanistic care,and at the same time,it has artistic deficiencies such as insufficient fantasy,single plot and flattened character image.In spite of these,in the history of underdeveloped Chinese science fiction,they occupy a special position as a link between the past and the future.A reflective study of them will help deepen the understanding of the development and evolution of Chinese science fiction.
