In this article an analysis has been conducted on the measurements adopted and effect obtained during the construction of disciplines at Xin Hua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Second Medical University.It suggests that the construction of disciplines might be the key for the hospital to enhance its comprehensive competitiveness.In order to make progress and achieve success in the construction of disciplines,the following must have been done,namely:the innovation in management;the establishment of competitive mechanism and the creation of favorable factors.
