先秦秦汉时期的“河南”地域称谓

The Toponymy of He Nan in The Pre-Qin and Qin-Han Periods

'河南'称谓商代即已出现,但界限不明。《周礼》以'河南'来描述豫州所在,地域范围西起华阴,东至定陶,北限黄河,南及随州。战国时期,在列国成为政治舞台主角的情形下,豫州境内的'河南'或指周人所居的洛阳一带,或指魏人占据的大梁迤西北地区。另外,齐、燕纷争导致齐国境内位于黄河以南的土地亦被称为'河南'。秦汉时期,'河南'被用作正式的政区称谓,其地域范围基本继承《周礼》,同时又受到列国纷争政治局面的强烈影响,至此,'河南'称谓的地域指向大致稳定下来。

The toponymy of He Nan occurred in Shang Dynasty,but it’s boundaries were indistinct.Zhou Li used He Nan to define Yu Zhou which had been limited in the following geographical scope:Hua Yin as western limit,Ding Tao as eastern limit,the Yellow River as northern boundary and Sui Zhou as southern limit.During the Warring States period,under the condition of vassal states struggling,He Nan in Yu Zhou indicated the Luo Yang area where the people of Zhou kingdom lived,or indicated areas between the Yellow River and Da Liang.Moreover,because of the Qi—Yan struggle,the Qi’s land to the south of the Yellow River was also called He Nan.In the Qin and Han Dynasties,He Nan was used to indicate an official administrative district with the geographical scope either fundamentally consistent with that of He Nan in Zhou Li,or significantly constrained by the political conditions of the Warring States period.From then on,the geographical indication of He Nan was relatively steady.
