论考试的经济功能之限度

On Limitation of Economical Function of Examination

考试作为一种制度安排,其形成和发展本身就是经济的需要,它节约的是交易费用,是人类追求效率的产物,其经济功能客观存在。考试的经济功能具有两重性,在关注考试的经济功能时,应注意预警和转化其负向经济功能。考试的经济功能地实现,应该考虑到不同考试所承载的价值和核心理念的差异性,它们所发挥的功能存在差别。只有当考试被广泛应用于经济系统时,考试的经济功能才可能得以发挥。要善于利用考试的经济功能为社会经济发展和人的发展服务。不能因为考试的经济功能客观存在,就大肆推动和开发考试的经济价值,这不仅会损害考试的固有功能,还可能导致考试的异化。考试不是经济发展的工具,其主要目的不是发展经济。

As a kind of institutional arrangement, examination features economical function which is an objectively inevitable product of human’s pursuit of economy and efficiency. Due to its duality, the economical function of examination needs to be paid cautious attention to, in case it should turn into some negative functions when playing roles. In order to achieve its economical function,the various values and core concept that the examination intends to demonstrate should be taken into account as well. Only when it is widely used in the economic system, the economical function of the examination can be fulfilled. Moreover, this function is to be taken advantage of to serve the social economic development and human cultivation better. However, on the other hand, we cannot develop or promote the economic value of the examination just for its economical function. Otherwise,the inherent function may get hurt, and alienation may happen. In short, examination is not a tool for economic development; its major purpose is not to develop economy.
