Historical Review and Realistic Reflection on “Pre-selection of College Students before Gaokao”

上世纪八十年代的高考预选是在特殊历史背景下实施的招考环节,在一定程度上有利于节约招生资源,提高考试效率。但同时也有违考试公平和教育公平。当前高考改革应从中吸取经验教训,在兼顾考试公平与效率的前提下,科学研究招生考试制度,慎重改革。

The pre-selection of the college students before gaokao in the 1980 s as a special admission policy carried out in a particular historical context, has played a favorable role in saving enrollment resources and improving examination efficiency to some extent. However, on the other hand,the preselection is no good to the fairness and equality of gaokao. Therefore, the present gaokaopolicy needs to learn from it and be cautious in the reform so as to scientifically study the policiesand take into account the fairness and efficiency of the examination.
