Scientific research units possess a number of research findings and results, but how to put such research findings and results into the full play of their effectiveness and utilities, based on the achievement of specific functions, yield favorable economic and social benefits, which is really a serious question being worthy to discuss. This paper analyzes the influential factors constraining the value chain extension of scientific units from the parts of scientific research units, enterprises, governmental policies, scientific and technological agents, therefore puts forwards some suggestive advices and proposals to realize the value chain extension of scientific units by adopting direct and indirect methods.
