试论我国国际航运英语翻译中存在的问题

Main Mistakes in Translation of International Shipping Language in China

加入世贸组织后 ,我国政府将进一步对外开放我国的航运业 ;同时 ,政府交通主管部门正积极努力健全与完善我国国际航运事业的政策法规体系 ,以规范我国的航运市场 ,规范行业行为。然而 ,由于历史原因以及我国航运从业人员对国际航运英语翻译的疏忽 ,因翻译造成的经济损失比比皆是。这不得不引起人们的注意。本文归纳了我国国际航运英语翻译中存在的主要问题 ,即 :语法错误 ;术语翻译错误 ;望文生义的错译、误译 ;文化差异引起的错译 ;习惯性用法引起的误译 ;专业术语不统一引起的误译。同时 ,文章指出 :在规范航运市场的同时 ,我国的航运英语也需规范化、标准化。

With China's accession to WTO, the Chinese Government will further open the shipping market to the outside world and meanwhile the competent authorities in charge of transport and communications are endeavoring to develop and improve the relevant shipping laws and regulations so as to regulate and standardize the shipping conduct and shipping market. However, it should be noted that due to historical reason and negligence of the people involved in the shipping industry, economical loss resulting from mistranslation seems enormous. This paper has illustrated the main mistakes in translation of the international shipping language in China, and meanwhile calls for people's attention that translation of the international shipping language requires regulation and standardization.
