Peculiarity of Public Administration and the Teaching Difficulty of the Major in College

高校开设的行政管理专业根源于美国的公共行政研究,公共行政研究领域的综合性造就了行政管理专业体系的复杂性。当前我国高校开设的行政管理专业存在着若干教学难点,主要体现为在课程设置、教材选用和教学过程几个方面都存在着西方理论与中国本土实践之间的矛盾。因此,要努力探索能够兼顾基本理论而又适合中国特色社会主义建设的行政管理专业教学方法,做好"中西结合"、明确"中西差异",有效突破我国高校行政管理专业教学中的难点。

The major of public administration in college is rooted in the public administration research in the USA. Comprehensiveness of the research area leads to complexity of the major system. Currently several difficulties exist in teaching public administration major in colleges of China. There are some contradictions between western theory and our local practice in several aspects. They are curriculum provision,teaching material selection and teaching process. So we should make great efforts to explore teaching methods of public administration major,and make sure that the methods can combine basic theory with socialist construction with Chinese characteristics. We should also make the combination of Chinese and the West,and clearly understand the differences between Chinese and the West to effectively resolve the difficulties in public administration teaching in colleges of China.
