The innovation of American universities has a long history.Now it has developed to a higher level and has made great contributions to American science and technology and economic industry.Undoubtedly,collaborative innovation modes need to be strategically targeted.Besides,it also needs to establish a scientific collaborative innovation organization,make the operation mechanism flexible and effective,pay attention to the basic theory research,reinforce infrastructure construction and strengthen the links between government and universities as well as research institutions and industry,and establish a community of interests.The successful experience of American colleges and universities has important reference for China to build world-class universities.
