尽管中国特色社会主义和中国传统儒家思想有着不同的理论范畴和时代名义,但旧邦新造、其命维新本就是儒家思想内生自化、传承不息的精神义理。提出,中国特色社会主义就是今日中国的儒家。其原因在于,二者有着一脉相承的精神气质、一以贯之的精神风貌,以及诚意诚一的精神追求。依此三个维度而将中华人民共和国的"这六十年"同中华民族的"那五千年"对接起来,以期为中国特色社会主义理论的丰富和发展,挖掘出更具历史纵深意义的文明背景。
