There are enormous biblical archetypes in A Mercy,which had enriched implication of the work and individualization of characters.Morrison borrowed epic-like biblical heroes to exhibit the nobodies in her work,and embodied that even nobody could become hero in their own world.Besides,she eulogized the experience progression,spirit performance and self-salvation of the black women under the mercy of slavery.She indicated that their only way to ensure identification is the maintenance of their black identity.
