Different Translation Versions for Three Character Classic and Their Strategy

由于历史原因,典籍翻译总存在一本多译的现象,即同一源语文本出现不同的译者译本。根植于中国传统文化的《三字经》自晚清以来出现的译本林林总总,主要分为晚清西方译者译本和现代华人译者译本。梳理《三字经》一本多译的脉络,对比每个阶段译本的策略特点,挖掘一本多译的发展空间,对继往开来的中国典籍译者有启示作用。

For historical reasons,there are always many translation versions for one classic which means 'different translation versions for the same source text'.Many translation versions to Three Character Classic which is based on Chinese traditional culture have come into being since the late Qing Dynasty.The versions can be mainly divided into western translators' versions in the late Qing Dynasty and modern Chinese translators' versions.This paper collects and analyzes different translations versions of Three Character Classic.With a contrastive study of their translation strategies,the features of versions in different periods can be summed up and more developing spaces of 'different translation versions for the same source text' can be discovered.It may enlighten the future translators of Chinese classics.
