Researching non Gaussian signal is a new field of signal processing .The underwater target radiation noises always takes on apparent nonlinearity and non Guassianness.Therefore,bispectrum is used to extract the non gaussian ingredients from the noise signals of ships.The experimental results inicdate that high order spectrum has great potentialities in sonar target recognition.
