Archaeological Findings and Preliminary Study of Neolithic Ruins in Huarong Countyof Hunan Province (Part One)

华容县自1985年开展第二次全国文物普查以来,陆续发现一批先秦时期文化遗址。这些遗存不仅文化内涵丰富,而且从文化面貌及年代来看,它们分别属于汤家岗文化、大溪文化、屈家岭文化、石家河文化,年代距今6800年~4500年左右,构成了华容县这一地区新石器时代中、晚期的文化发展序列。因此,我们将这些调查、试掘、发掘的新石器时代遗址的资料进行全面系统的整理,对于研究华容县,乃至整个东洞庭湖地区新石器时代中、晚期遗存的文化面貌、文化性质、文化发展序列等都具有非常重要的意义。此为文章的上半部分。

Since the second national archaeological survey was carried out in 1985,a number of pre-Qin cultural ruins have been found in Huarong County.These ruins,rich in cultural content,respectively belonged to Tangjiagang Culture,Daxi Culture,Qujialing Culture and Shijiahe Culture according to their cultural features and time.They cover a time range from 6,800 years ago to 4,500 years ago,and constitute the cultural development sequence of Huarong area in the mid-and late-Neolithic period.Consequently,if we make a comprehensive and systematic arrangement of the materials of the Neolithic ruins that we have surveyed,test excavated or fully excavated,it will be of great importance to the study of the cultural features,cultural attributes and cultural development sequence of mid-and late-Neolithic remains in Huarong County and even in the whole eastern Dongting Lake area.This is the first part of the whole paper.
