明华阳王家族圹志考述

An Investigation of the Epitaphs of Prince of Huayang’s Family of the Ming Dynasty

华阳王是明代分封的第一代郡王。第一代华阳王朱悦燿是蜀献王朱椿的次子,因种种劣行而被贬谪澧州。其活动区域即在今澧县、津市一带,薨逝后则葬在津市澧水南岸的关山至大旗山一带,墓葬多已摧毁。历年来,津市文物部门收集到一批圹志,这些圹志为我们系统研究明华阳王的家族史和明代宗藩制度提供了宝贵的第一手资料。

The Prince of Huayang was the first generation of princes conferred upon in the Ming Dynasty.Zhu Yueyao,the first Prince of Huayang,was the second son of Zhu Chun(the Prince of Shuxian),who was exiled to Lizhou for his various misconducts.His was active in the region of the present-day Lixian County and Jinshi City.After he and his family members died,they were buried in the area from Guanshan to Daqishan on the south bank of the Li River in Jinshi City,but their tombs have been mostly destroyed.In recent years,the municipal administration of cultural relics of Jinshi City has collected quite a few epitaphs,which have provided precious first-hand materials for the systematic study of the family history of the Prince of Huayang and the system of vassalage in the Ming Dynasty.
