Speculative science fiction,created by Edgar Allen Poe at the beginning of 19th century,blends technological speculation with adventurous stories.At the end of the 19th century,the genre became popular in England,and witnessed an unprecedented change,speculating more plausibly about contemporary theory,and covering a wider range of themes.The rise of the "New Wave" science fiction created by Morecock in the 1960s marked the end of the traditional English speculative science fiction.
