Idea of Sustainable Development of Cotton Production in Dingcheng

常德市鼎城区是长江流域的棉花主产县(区)。1989年以来,该区棉花种植面积和单产呈跳跃式增长。近几年由于农业自然灾害频发、种植区域分散、投入成本增加等诸多因素,造成植棉比较效益降低,制约了该区棉花生产可持续发展。推进鼎城区棉花生产可持续发展,应进一步加强基础建设,优化区域布局,实行科技创新和政策扶持相结合,多措并举。

Dingcheng District of Changde City is a main cotton producing county(district) of the Yangtze River basin.Since 1989,the cotton planting area and yield in this district are growing rapidly.In recent years,many factors such as the low comparative benefit of cotton planting,the frequent natural disasters,the planting area of dispersion have restricted the sustainable development of the cotton production there.In this way,it should take the regional layout,technology innovation,policy support and other measures simultaneously for its further cotton grouth.
