近代湖南私立教育的课程与教学可分为近代湖南自办私立学校和教会学校两个层面,课程设置和教学方法有其共性之外,而更多的是显示各自的特点。他们都为近代湖南教育的发展作出了一定的贡献。

The course and teaching of contemporary Hunan private education can be divided into two layers: the private school and church school. Curriculum setup and teaching methods are not only of their won common characteristics but more of their own purposes as well, both of which have greatly contributed to the development of contemporary Hunan education.
