高校图书馆有其自身的鲜明的时代特征。目前,世界各国都十分注重图书馆的文化建设,高校图书馆的文化建设对图书馆的发展方向有引领作用,给高校的发展提供文化支撑,为师生素质的提高提供时代素养。图书馆文化建设是一个综合的体系,其涵盖的内容比较广泛,要构建高校图书馆文化,主要应在价值理念、服务理念、创新理念、建筑理念等方面显示其文化内涵。
