Granite residual soil, which is widely distributed over Xiamen, has a higher capacity. It is known that Franki piles without pile shoes would provide good bearing capacity as well as excellent economic benefits, while granite residual soil is taken as the bearing stratum. Therefore the Franki pile is a better type among cast-in-situ piles for under-12-storey buildings.
