欧洲的民族问题及影响

EUROPE′S ETHNIC PROBLEMS AND THEIR IMPLICATION

当前,欧洲的民族问题已成为困扰欧洲的头号难题,欧洲各国领导人和各种政治、安全机制乃至联合国安理会,都为排解欧洲的民族争端绞尽脑汁,但收效甚微,症结何在?一、欧洲的民族问题盘根错节有些欧洲学者、记者乃至政治家,提及民族问题,总认为是东欧发展先天不足造成的。似乎西欧不存在民族问题。其实不然,欧洲大多数国家不是国内存在民族问题。

The first article denounces a wrong idea that the ethnic problems exist only in East Europe and that West Europe can go without them.Actually,most of European countries have trouble with ethnic problems,either within their own boundaries,or with the neighboring states. In West Europe,Britain and North Ireland have stood against each other ethnically for 30 years.France,Italy,Belgium have their own ethnic troubles,let lone Russia and other member countries of CIS.The cause,among others,is the wrong ethnic policy. The ethnic conflict,whether in the ex-Soviet Union or in ex-Yugoslavia,is now turning into a chaos resulting in serious economic calamity,loss of lives and huge flow of refugees.
