曲折前进的中美关系

A WINDING ROAD FOR THE SINO_U.S.RELATIONS

１９９７ 年和１９９８ 年的中美两国首脑互访，把中美关系推进到一个新的阶段。但自两国首脑实现互访到现在的一段时间里，美反华逆流再次回潮，克林顿在对华政策上摇摆不定，反映出美国的政治现实。今后的中美关系前途坎坷，但仍会在曲折中得到发展。

Qin , beginning from the historic visits made by Jiang Zemin and Bill Clinton to each other○scountry ,clarifies a series of facts happening after Clinton○s China tour and reflecting a new adverse cur rentstirred up by America○s anti_China rightist force.In addition to the old stuff of “human rights”issueand the so_called China○s “repressive policy”toward “democrats,”this time they improvised two “magicweapons”:one was “China stole America○s nuclear secrets,”and the other wasthe U.S.intention of de ploying TMDin East Asia ,alleging that China would deploy 650 missiles along its eastern coast by theyear of 2005 .The author believesthe road for Sino_American relations has been tortuous and willremain the samein the foreseeable future .The author hopesto see a more moderate policy by the Clinton administration toward China and hopesthatthe policy would be based on the spirit of mutualrespect and seekingcom mon ground while reserving differences.
