This thesis searches for the happening of Xu Xiake's family tragedy and its effect on his grandson's mind, then gives a reasonable answer to the question why in Xu's Family Tree Xu's wife, Who was the plotter of the tragedy, is not included but Xu's son Li Ji,Whose Lsurname is Li but not Xu,is included. The thesis finally points out:Xu's true love was his concubine Zhou, she was not accepted by Luo,`be driven out of the family because of her pregnancy,'and Xu suffered from the tragedy, such he made up his mind to devote his life to his trial.
