As an important member of the Party’s leadership core,Chen Yun experienced various historical periods of revolution,construction and reform and played an important role in maintaining the core of leadership.Since the reform and opening-up,he adhered to the principle of seeking truth from facts,resolutely upheld Mao Zedong’s historical position,supported the bringing order out of chaos,made a clear call for the restoration of Deng Xiaoping’s leadership and the maintenance of his core position in leadership,and firmly supported the third-generation central leadership group with Jiang Zemin as the core.Chen Yun’s thought and practice of maintaining the core of leadership has important enlightenment for adhering to the'two maintenances'in the new era.To maintain the core of leadership,we must adhere to the ideological line of seeking truth from facts,which is the realistic need to deal with and prevent risks,the inevitable requirement of the Communist Party members to adhere to their political beliefs and a strong guarantee for the firm political line of the Party.
