摘要
在英语阅读理解过程中,图式理论着重强调读者的背景知识以及读者与文本之间的互动关系。它包括念给基本的心理语言学信息处理模式,即自下而上模式和自上而下模式。图式理论对英语阅读理解影响很大,有着重要的指导性作用。根据这一理论指导,教师可以充分利用激活背景知识,课前阅读及信息预测等手段把学生的背景知识结构与文本联系起来,从而达到更好的阅读理解效果。
Schema theory stresses the reader's background knowledge and the interaction of the text and the reader in ESL reading comprehension.It includes two basic modes of psycholinguistic information processing,bottom-up and top-down processing. Schema theory contributes a lot in ESL reading comprehension and has significant instructional functions in ESL reading teaching. According to it,the teacher can make full use of background knowledge,pre-reading and prediction to associate students'schemata with the text for a better reading comprehension.
